12月6日,由万豪国际集团杭州区举办的“本地食材·厨师大赛”于杭州滨江世融艾美酒店成功举行。此次活动邀请到了万豪国际集团杭州区副总裁高炜东先生、万豪国际集团华东区商务理事会浙江&安徽分会主席李罡先生、杭州JW万豪酒店行政总厨薄大为先生、杭州钱江新城万豪酒店行政总厨朱峥嵘先生、两位资深媒体人陶煜女士与许益先生、IS Seafood马提亚先生担任比赛评委。同时有来自万豪国际集团旗下杭州区12家酒店的15位厨师参加本次大赛,一展精湛厨艺,分别是:杭州JW万豪酒店及杭州武林万怡酒店、浙江安吉JW万豪酒店、杭州钱江新城万豪酒店、杭州临安万豪酒店、杭州西溪喜来登度假大酒店、绿城千岛湖喜来登度假酒店、杭州滨江世融艾美酒店、杭州余杭万丽酒店、杭州钱江新城万怡酒店、杭州福朋喜来登酒店与杭州万豪行政公寓。
2018 Marriott Hangzhou - Go Local · Chef Battle successfully hosted at Le Méridien Hangzhou, Binjiang on December 6th. Mr. Alfred Gao, Multi-property Vice President-Hangzhou, Marriott International, Mr. Eric Li, Chairman of Marriott Worldwide Business Councils East China Zhejiang & Anhui Sub-Council, Mr. David Scott Ball, Executive Chef of JW Marriott Hotel Hangzhou, Mr. Jerry Zhu, Executive Chef of Hangzhou Marriott Hotel Qianjiang, Ms. Tao Yu and Mr. Xu Yi, senior media professionals, Mr. Matthias Gunder, IS Seafood were invited to judge the event and select the award winners. 15 chefs from JW Marriott Hotel Hangzhou & Courtyard by Marriott Hangzhou Wulin, JW Marriott Hotel Zhejiang Anji, Hangzhou Marriott Hotel Qianjiang, Hangzhou Marriott Hotel Lin’an, Sheraton Grand Hangzhou Wetland Park Resort, Sheraton Qiandao Lake Resort, Le Méridien Hangzhou, Binjiang, Renaissance Hangzhou Northeast Hotel, Courtyard Marriott Hangzhou Qianjiang, Four Points By Sheraton Hangzhou and Marriott Executive Apartments Hangzhou were getting together for this culinary battle.
比赛以“本地食材”为主题,选手在规定时间内完成一道创新菜品。评委通过菜品故事、摆盘展示、菜品口味及菜品创意四个方面评分。
Each talented chef was asked to develop one dish from local ingredients and points were assessed based on story, presentation, taste and creativity.
Each of 15 inspired local dishes is in a setting with a story of chef’s experience to tell, which evokes the memory, enhances the flavor. Chefs presented the extraordinary culinary competition. The judges offered their expertise and provided guidance to the chefs during the food tasting.

We have 14 properties of Marriott International, Inc. in Hangzhou which will bring you fabulous gourmet experience”, said Mr. Alfred Gao, Multi-property Vice President-Hangzhou, Marriott International at 2018 Marriott Hangzhou - Go Local · Chef Battle Award Ceremony.
“It has been inspiring to see Go Local · Chef Battle is a platform for chefs to exchange their knowledge and cooperate with one another, as well as develop dishes from local ingredients for you to enjoy life with more creations”, said Mr. Eric Li, Chairman of Marriott Worldwide Business Councils East China Zhejiang & Anhui Sub-Council.
Then, Mr. Maximilian Schwalbe, Director of Operation of Hangzhou Marriott Hotel Qianjiang, Mr. David Scott Ball, Executive Chef of JW Marriott Hotel Hangzhou, also the Chef Battle lead organizer, Mr. Jerry Zhu, Executive Chef of Hangzhou Marriott Hotel Qianjiang and Mr. Henley Jiang, Executive Chef of Le Méridien Hangzhou, Binjiang, also the Chef Battle organizers introduced this event and the cookbook Chefs & Gourmet.
许麦斯先生表示:“大赛目的不仅仅是角逐名次,更是为了激发厨师们的创造力,相互学习与成长,不仅如此,我们想要提升杭州本地美食的关注度”。“The aim of this event is to develop the creativity of our culinary team, also for them to work together and learn from each other. Moreover, we would like to create the awareness for the Hangzhou food dishes and products”, said Mr. Maximilian Schwalbe.
Finally, Daisy Zhai from Hangzhou Marriott Hotel Qianjiang won the champion with her creation Osmanthus Chocolate Mousse.
The first runner-up, Barney Xiong from Renaissance Hangzhou Northeast Hotel impressed the judges with Braised Beef.
The second runner-up, Adrian Qi from Hangzhou Marriott Hotel Qianjiang with his Roasted Cod Fish with Cherry Tomato Salsa and Purple Sweet Potato Puree.
