Chef Ferri grew up in the region of Umbria, Italy, renowned for its spectacular hills and vineyards. Food and wine are as much a part of Umbria's charm as its scenery and history. Prior to joining The Ritz-Carlton, Beijing, Chef Ferri spent the last 18 years honing his culinary skills at various renowned hotels and restaurants across Italy, Dubai, Japan and Thailand, having worked and collaborated with several Michelin-starred chefs such as Enzo Depra, Heinz Beck and Takagi Kazuo, as well as studied with Ferra Adria to learn more about molecular cuisine.
Chef Ferri's footprint in different countries has not only honed his cooking skills, but also taught him to respect different cultures. His creativity, experience and passion for food will enable him to create new and exciting delicacies for Barolo. His favorite ingredients are Truffles, Saffron and Thyme, and signature dishes include Octopus salad, Bacon & Mozzarella Cappellacci and chocolate millefeuille.
Outside of work, Chef Ferri likes to experience the world through his travels. He is not only good at water skiing and diving, but also likes to play guitar and read books. He looks forward to delighting guests at Barolo by presenting his own unique spin on Italian cuisine.
